Tom Peeters has worked the Belgian gambling beat since 2019 and tries everything first-hand with a preference for dice games. Based in Antwerpen.
How we test. every test starts with a real account, stake money with Bancontact, request a withdrawal and time every step. Every operator goes past the Gaming Commission's white and black lists and check what the terms actually say.
The outbound links earn us a fee; that does not change what the review says. If the licence is missing, it says so, fee or no fee.
What the law imposes
On player protection, Belgium sits considerably more strictly than a few years ago which feeds straight into your play limit. By default €200 per week per site may go in.
The Gaming Commission keeps one central exclusion register in EPIS: after registration no licensed operator grants you access. The register is not public. The age bar moved on 1 September 2024 from 18 to 21 for casino, hall and betting; 18 still applies at the National Lottery alone. Without valid ID you do not get through.
